Overview

Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area, so it runs its own short-stay visa system. Longer stays involve both a visa (where needed) and registration of your immigration permission after arrival.

This guide is an orientation only. Read the official Irish Immigration and Department of Enterprise pages for the current rules.
